
Tool Share
Franklin Conservation District has developed a tool sharing program to assist local landowners and small producers with equipment to improve, maintain landscapes and promote healthy conservation practices. These tools cover a range of practices from residue management (chipper), lawn removal to simple planting supplies. The Franklin CD Tool share program is open to all residents within the Franklin Conservation District boundaries.
The Franklin Conservation District Tool Share is maintained at the Franklin CD office at 1724 E. Superior St in Pasco, WA. The Conservation District, while open weekdays from 8AM-4PM, supports the daily rental program Every Tuesday-Thursday from 8AM-2PM and weekend rentals Friday from 8AM-2PM. All rentals require a four-hour minimum. Rentals not returned before 2 PM will be assessed the daily rate. Rentals on Fridays will be assessed as Multi-day rates if not returned by 2 PM Friday.

Rental Policy
Franklin CD provides our rental service with the following requirements and reservation:

All rentals are assessed a $50.00 non-refundable deposit (except soil & planting) which will be applied to the final rental cost.

Rentals are managed through the reservations link for a calendar of availability and is operated on a first come – first serve basis however, reservation for dates can be made if equipment is open.

All rates are assessed based on a 4-hr. minimum.

A $100.00 cost will be assessed at time of return if the equipment is returned damaged or in inadequate condition.

Franklin CD reserves the right to refuse rental service at anytime for any reason.

Incidents (potential damage, operation issues or concerns) involving the equipment are required to be reported to Franklin CD at the time of return.
Powered Equipment
Franklin Conservation District currently has the following equipment for use by district residents as of January 2026

DR 3.25” 7 HP chipper with Debris Vacuum
DR 7 HP Chipper with leaf Vacuum attachment. Powered by a 7 HP gasoline 2 stroke motor and able to handle material up to 3.25” in diameter in the top load feed chute. The leaf vacuum attachment features an 8 ft hose with attached handle for ease of maneuverability. Can be attached to any 1 7/8 capable hitch but is not road legal in WA.
DR Brush Cutter

Mechtech 4” Static Drive Trencher
14 HP Mini trench is a walkbehind model capable of trenching a 4-inch trench up to 24 inches deep. Designed with the EZ-START system the 14 HP motor, manual depth adjustment and automatic stop in case of emergencies. The trencher is capable of 547 ft of progress per hour.
Claasen 18” Hydrostatic Drive Sod Cutter
With a Hydrostatic Drive system, the Claasen Sod cutter is able to produce a 18” wide sod roll up to a max depth of 2.25 thick. The 5.5 HP Honda motor powers 1,200 stroke per minute and features a automatic stop system for added safety. Fully adjustable depth allow for roll thickness as small as 1 inch depending on desired depth. 18-inch rolls vary in weight between 35-50 Lbs. depending on thickness.


Turbo Turf 100 Gal. Hydroseeder
The HS-100-P, is a 100 Gallon, pull type hydroseeder. It has a clevis hitch and two 20 x 100 x 8 tires on demountable hubs. It will seed 1300 square feet per load. It is equipped with a 4 H. P. Honda 2″ X 2″ high volume centrifugal pump, 100′ of 1 1/4″ discharge hose, a gun and three nozzles (1 wide hydroseeding nozzle, 1 straight distance nozzle, and 1 trim nozzle). The empty weight of the unit is 240 pounds. The loaded weight is 1050 pounds with dimensions of 27″W x 56″L x 43″H. This unit is easily pulled by a compact tractor, A.T.V. or a utility vehicle but is not street legal.
MBS Firminator G-3
The Firminator G-3 is an ATV Model that takes all of the features of the full-size 3-point implement and right-sizes it for ATVs and UTVs. The G-3 has 16-inch ground turning disks with an Accurate Seeding System and a disking width of 32 inches. The seed box is constructed of steel and has a seed capacity of 2 bushels. It weighs approximately 880 pounds, which allows it to break up and dig in hard ground without bouncing across most surfaces. The ATV Model comes with a tow bar sized for a 2-inch ball but also retains the 3-point hitch (with CAT 1 Hook Ups) just in case you want to use it on a small tractor. A minimum of a 550cc ATV or UTV is required to use the G-3 Firminator.
Hand Tool Equipment
Franklin Conservation District provides manual hand tools for use when a project is small or the use of heavy equipment isn't feasible. These materials are available for district residents to rent for smaller planting projects.

Soil Testing Bundle
Soil testing equipment is provided to diagnose nutrient deficiencies, detrimental imbalances, and enhancing productivity through identifying nutrients, organic materials and pH imbalances. These materials provide a precise, sustainable, and cost-effective nutrient management for small growers and landowners. Franklin CD provides chemical testing for soil condition and nutrients as well as a pH monitor to determine Ph and salinity. These tools allow landowners to make choices on soil amendments that would provide optimum growth and plant health.

Planting Party Bundle
Hand planting equipment is provided for landowners who have a need to plant in a yard or garden that may be new to the process or need extra implements but only for a short time. Materials included can be used for planting, (trowels, flagging, gloves) or for general maintenance (pruning sheers) for similar options.
